Marcus Rashford Arsenal links have gathered fresh momentum after William Gallas urged his former club to consider the Manchester United forward following their failed pursuit of Vinicius Junior.
Marcus Rashford Arsenal: Gunners urged to react after Vinicius snub
According to GOAL, Mikel Arteta personally explored the possibility of bringing Vinicius Jr. to the Emirates during uncertainty surrounding the Brazilian’s Real Madrid contract. That door has now slammed shut after the 26-year-old signed a new deal running until June 2032.
Gallas believes Arsenal should turn their attention to Rashford instead. The 28-year-old returned to United after spending last season on loan at Barcelona, while reports have placed his potential asking price at around £40m.
His time in Spain certainly gave the Gunners something to think about. Rashford scored eight goals and supplied seven assists in 32 La Liga appearances during 2025/26, rediscovering a level of attacking influence that had disappeared during parts of his final spell at Old Trafford.
Speaking on the situation, Gallas told iPredicta: “Of course, Marcus Rashford would be a great option for Arsenal’s attack. I think he had a great season, and I’m sure some clubs will try to jump on that situation. I don’t think he will stay at Manchester United. I’m not sure why no one has signed him yet, maybe because the price is too high.”
The former Arsenal captain continued his analysis by highlighting Rashford’s intentions: “He wants to leave Man United; otherwise, he would not have gone on loan to Barcelona. He will try to find a solution to leave the club and to sign a long contract with another British club. So now the question is if Man United are ready to sell him. That is the question. We have to know the answer.”
Marcus Rashford Arsenal move could be a bargain
I’d take the deal at £40m, without much hesitation.
Arsenal would be buying a player with Premier League experience, genuine pace and the ability to cause problems from either flank or through the middle. Those qualities don’t usually come cheaply, particularly when the player has already shown he can perform at the highest level.
Rashford finished the Barcelona season with 14 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. 25 direct goal contributions represent serious output, and his Champions League return of five goals added further weight to his revival.
The comparison with Gabriel Martinelli is particularly interesting. Martinelli recorded 11 goals and seven assists in 53 appearances, while Rashford created 48 chances compared with the Arsenal winger’s 22. Rashford also delivered a better overall passing accuracy, at 84.8%.
Marcus Rashford Arsenal deal comes with one concern
There is a problem. Rashford hasn’t always convinced with his defensive effort, and Arteta won’t tolerate passengers when Arsenal press from the front. Still, the right structure could bring the best from him. Saka provides creativity from the right, while Rashford could attack isolated full-backs, burst into the box and operate centrally when required.

At £40m, Arsenal wouldn’t be paying for a perfect player. They’d be paying for a 28-year-old England international whose Barcelona numbers suggest there is still plenty left in him.

Why is William Gallas football contributions are nagetive if does not really know what to say he should keep quiet he went to Chelsea he speaks he comes to Arsenal he speaks all are meaningless let him make a positive contribution why not tell Chelsea to sign Marcus Rashford when did he become a scout to know what a club needs let’s be guided.
