Diomande Rangers Sale: Rangers are moving closer to selling Mohamed Diomande after Çorum FK stepped up their pursuit of the midfielder.

Diomande Rangers Sale talks advance over £4.8m offer

Ibrox News first reported the developing situation, with Sky Sports now confirming that advanced talks are underway between the two clubs. Çorum’s opening offer is worth around £4.8m, or €5.6m, with negotiations focused on how the final package will be structured.

Diomande only arrived from FC Nordsjælland in January 2024. The initial deal was a loan, followed by an obligation to buy. Yet Rangers‘ midfield has changed quickly this summer. Derek McInnes has brought in Dan Neil, Cammy Devlin and Vanja Dragojević. Suddenly, there are bodies everywhere in the middle of the pitch.

The 24-year-old has still played early in the new campaign. He featured in the 2-1 defeats against Hibernian and Jagiellonia Białystok. That hasn’t stopped Rangers considering a sale. His contract runs until 2028, so there is no immediate pressure. Minutes, though, are likely to become harder to find.

Diomande Rangers Sale makes financial sense

A fee between £4.5m and £4.8m would look like sensible business for Rangers.

During the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership campaign, Diomande scored once and picked up five yellow cards. His Europa League record was livelier: one goal, one assist and two red cards across five appearances. That tells its own story.

There is plenty to like about his game. Diomande can drive through midfield, beat a man and cover ground quickly. The issue has been consistency. His influence has come in moments rather than week after week. Rangers can’t afford to let him drift into a bit-part role. With three years left on his deal, this may be the right moment to protect his value and move him on.

Diomande Rangers Sale should not hurt McInnes

At one stage, Diomande looked capable of becoming a key figure at Ibrox. The talent is still there, but his progress has flattened out.

He has also missed recent Ivory Coast squads. In Europe, his disciplinary record caused further problems, with two dismissals highlighting a side of his game that Rangers have struggled to manage. McInnes now has alternatives. Neil, Devlin and Dragojević have joined an already crowded group, leaving Diomande with a tougher route into the starting XI.

Turkey could offer the clean break he needs. At 24, there is still plenty of time to sharpen the rough edges. Rangers, meanwhile, can free up a midfield place and bank close to £4.8m. That is why the Diomande Rangers Sale feels less like a gamble and more like a decision that suits everyone involved.
