Amad Diallo transfer news: Manchester United slam the door on Amad Diallo’s summer exit
Amad Diallo transfer news: Forget the rumours. Amad Diallo is going absolutely nowhere.
Manchester United have slammed the door shut on any potential summer exit for the 23-year-old Ivorian winger, making it clear behind the scenes that he is completely off the market. Reports from Football Insider reveal that a queue of clubs made inquiries following Diallo’s standout performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Old Trafford’s decision-makers aren’t interested. The stance is ironclad: he stays.
The San Siro connection and Michael Carrick’s veto
AC Milan led the chasing pack. Their interest increased after appointing former United boss Ruben Amorim, creating an obvious narrative for a Serie A reunion. It won’t happen. Fabrizio Romano put a blunt end to the chatter on his YouTube channel, confirming that current United boss Michael Carrick refused to sanction a move. “Manchester United’s position is very clear. Amad Diallo is not for sale this summer,” Romano said.
According to TEAMtalk, United officials practically laughed off the initial approaches. They view Diallo as a massive part of the club’s long-term plans, a player to build the attack around, rather than an asset to cash in on.
It is a massive show of faith after a frustrating 2025/26 campaign. Diallo managed just two goals and four assists in 34 games, largely because Amorim deployed him out of position at wing-back for half the season. Once Carrick took the reins and put him back on the right wing, his form stabilised. FotMob data tracks his season at 2,344 minutes across all Premier League games with a decent 7.19 average rating, a dip from the eight goals and six assists he managed the year before, but context matters.
The World Cup in North America reminded everyone of his raw ceiling. Diallo bagged the winner for Ivory Coast against Ecuador in the group stage, then scored a brilliant solo goal against Norway in the round of 32. Erling Haaland’s late strike eventually dumped the Ivorians out in a 2-1 loss, but Diallo left the tournament with his stock higher than ever.

United gave him a five-year contract last year. With a market value hovering around €54.2 million, the club hierarchy knows exactly what they have. Carrick wants midfield recruits this summer, not a rebuild of his frontline.
