Camarda previously chose Milan despite interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, then renewed his contract in July until June 2031, with a one-year club option. Milan later confirmed that he returned from Lecce after 23 Serie A appearances, one goal and one assist last season.

For me, Chelsea should treat this as a development case rather than a move for immediate first-team impact. Camarda’s current value comes from what he can become, because his strongest work still happens around the penalty area. His movement can take him away from centre-backs, while his ability to finish with either foot gives him several routes to goal. He presses aggressively as well, which gives him a useful starting point without the ball.
Yet there are gaps. At 18, he still needs time to build the physical strength required for Premier League centre-backs, particularly after the shoulder issue that disrupted his previous campaign. His build-up involvement remains limited, and this season’s small sample shows that. TEAMtalk currently records only eight Serie A minutes, while two brief substitute appearances have provided very little evidence of sustained senior output.
That creates a tactical question at Chelsea. If Alonso continues to demand a striker who drops into midfield, links play and helps move compact defences, Camarda would need to add much more to his game. Right now, he looks closer to a penalty-box striker who thrives through sharp movement, quick finishing and low-touch involvement.
Chelsea could develop that profile, but a move to England would bring pressure and expectations before Camarda has established himself at Milan. His new contract gives Milan control until 2031, so Chelsea would face a difficult negotiation and a major development decision.
