Arsenal are entering the home stretch of the 2025/26 season at a massive turning point. Mikel Arteta’s side are still chasing both the Premier League and the Champions League, though a few tough losses in the domestic cups have raised questions about whether this young squad has the mental toughness to cross the finish line.
Still, the Gunners look dangerous in Europe. After dominant wins over heavyweights like Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, fans hope the club can finally end the trophy drought dating back to 2020, especially with a huge quarter-final against Sporting CP on the horizon.
Arsenal to sign Dani Olmo?
On the transfer front, reports from Spanish outlet Sport, via Sport Witness, claim Arsenal recently made a real push to bring Barcelona’s Dani Olmo to North London. Arteta reportedly tried to take advantage of the 27-year-old’s lack of consistent game time under Hansi Flick, but the Gunners aren’t alone in their interest. Manchester City also kept tabs on the Spaniard last summer, as Pep Guardiola is a known fan of his versatility. However, his agent, Andy Bara, previously made it clear that Olmo was happy in Catalonia.
There was also massive interest from outside Europe. About six weeks ago, Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah FC launched an ambitious bid to sign the midfielder. Brendan Rodgers’ team put a staggering offer on the table: a €60m fee for Barcelona and a four-year deal for Olmo worth €9.5m net per season. Even with those life-changing numbers, Olmo turned down the move to the Middle East, opting instead to stay and fight for his spot at the Camp Nou.
Olmo has been clinical when he’s on the pitch this year, racking up 7 goals and 7 assists in 25 La Liga games. His stats tell the story. A 7.53 average performance rating and a 86.38% passing accuracy in Europe, paired with high numbers for chances created.
Arsenal urged to sign attacker who has already scored 10 goals
It’s easy to see why top managers are still hovering. While he says he’s committed to Barça for now, the constant Premier League rumours suggest this saga isn’t over. If his minutes start to drop again, expect Arsenal and the rest of Europe’s elite to be right back in the mix come the summer transfer window.
