Chelsea

Chelsea have once again found themselves at the centre of eye-catching transfer speculation, with reports in Spain claiming the Blues are considering a move for former Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. Now playing for Real Madrid, the England international has been linked with a surprise return to the Premier League following an inconsistent first spell at the Bernabeu. With Liam Rosenior recently installed as Chelsea manager, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive over what direction the club’s recruitment could take next.

Alexander Arnold joined Madrid from Liverpool at the end of last season, but injuries and stiff competition have limited his impact so far. While Real Madrid are currently in Saudi Arabia for the Supercopa de España and preparing to face Atletico Madrid, speculation around their squad has continued to dominate headlines.

Rosenior’s reported interest and reality check

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Rosenior has identified Alexander Arnold as a priority target and believes the right back would suit his tactical setup at Chelsea. The report suggests Rosenior is keen to strengthen at full back and initially explored a loan deal until the end of the season for the 27-year-old.

However, this is where the claims begin to stretch credibility. Real Madrid are not believed to be open to loaning Alexander Arnold, particularly given their long-term planning and Dani Carvajal’s recent fitness issues. While the same report claims Chelsea could consider a permanent bid of around £40 million, no other reliable outlet has backed up this story.

Given Fichajes’ mixed track record and the lack of corroboration elsewhere, the link should be treated with caution. At this stage, there is no concrete evidence that Chelsea has made contact with Real Madrid or submitted any form of offer.

Fabrizio Romano shuts down Chelsea move for Vinicius Junior

Alongside the Alexander Arnold rumours, Chelsea have also been linked with an audacious move for Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior. Those claims, however, have been firmly dismissed by respected transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano made it clear that Chelsea have not made, nor are they planning to make, any bid for Vinicius. He stressed that there are no negotiations underway, no proposal has been submitted, and the player has no intention of leaving Madrid in the current window.

For now, Chelsea’s supposed interest in two of Real Madrid’s biggest names appears to sit firmly in the rumour category. While Rosenior is expected to reshape the squad over time, any serious move for Alexander Arnold or Vinicius would require far more than speculative reports to become reality.
