Liverpool

Liverpool head to Portman Road on Friday night with plenty of attention on Alexander Isak, yet the shape behind the Swedish striker may matter just as much. Liverpool Predicted Lineup points to a 4-2-3-1, with Andoni Iraola keeping a familiar base after draws against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.

Liverpool Predicted Lineup for Ipswich Town

Alisson Becker should keep his place in goal, while Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez provide the width from full-back. Jérémy Jacquet could partner Virgil van Dijk in the centre, particularly with Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Joseph Gomez unavailable. That pairing would give Liverpool pace and experience, although the back four still needs sharper protection after conceding twice in each of their first two league matches.

The midfield shape

The midfield selection looks fairly clear. Alexis Mac Allister can anchor the first phase, with Dominik Szoboszlai offering greater running power and a threat arriving late. Liverpool Predicted Lineup calculations also point to Florian Wirtz taking the central attacking role, where his movement between midfield and defence could pull Ipswich apart. Cody Gakpo should start from the left, while Víctor Muñoz keeps his place on the right after scoring the late equaliser against Forest. That goal should give the winger a useful lift.

The main selection call may come on the right, where Muñoz offers direct acceleration while Frimpong pushes beyond him. That relationship could stretch Ipswich, especially if Mac Allister shifts across to support possession. At the other end, Wirtz and Szoboszlai must react quickly after turnovers, because Ipswich can attack open spaces with speed.

Liverpool predicted lineup for the front three

Up front, Isak should lead the line again. He scored against Forest on August 29, although Liverpool still need more from him as they search for their first league win of the campaign. Hugo Ekitiké remains sidelined with injury, while Federico Chiesa joins the unavailable group, so Iraola has fewer senior attacking alternatives from the bench.

Liverpool face an Ipswich side that has mixed early results, beating Sunderland and Leicester before suffering a heavy defeat at Manchester United. Portman Road should create a lively atmosphere, and the hosts can test Liverpool’s rested defence with pace and directness. The Reds, meanwhile, have enough quality in the front four to cause problems if Wirtz receives the ball in useful pockets.
