Liverpool

Liverpool have already held early talks with Morgan Rogers’ camp. They want to lay the groundwork for a massive deal when the summer window opens. A report from CaughtOffside says the bosses at Anfield reached out to the player’s agents recently. They wanted to see if he would actually be interested in a move to Merseyside.

The report says the feedback has been a huge boost for the Reds. Rogers has not shut the door on the idea at all. In fact, a trusted source on social media just confirmed that he is keeping his options open once this season wraps up. This early legwork shows that Liverpool see the versatile attacker as a top priority. They clearly want him to lead a fresh look for their front line.

Should Villa Part with Their Star Man?

Right now, Morgan Rogers is at the heart of a major transfer battle. He is 23 and has become a regular for Thomas Tuchel’s England side, picking up 12 senior caps while tearing it up in the league.

As of February 16, 2026, Rogers has already bagged 10 goals this season. Eight of those came in the Premier League. He is a nightmare for defenders because he is physically strong but can still carry the ball half the length of the pitch.

This leaves Aston Villa with a massive call to make. They have to decide if they can really turn down a bid that might go over £100 million. The money sounds great, but Aston Villa likely need to say no if they want to stay in the top three.

Rogers is the link between the midfield and the attack, and very few players in Europe do what he does. Cash alone will not fix the hole his departure would leave behind. On top of that, Unai Emery’s whole system relies on a player with Rogers’ size and power to bully backlines.

Selling him to a rival like Liverpool would basically sabotage Villa’s own hunt for trophies and Champions League football. Instead of taking the payout, the club should buy players to put around him. They need to show him that Rogers can achieve everything he wants at Villa Park. Keeping a core of top-tier English talent remains their best bet for shaking up the usual order of the league.
