Man City will be expecting some good signings in the summer of 2026
Man City enter the summer of 2026 in a major situation, and sporting director Hugo Viana has already identified wide attackers as a priority for the 2026/27 campaign. As the Etihad look to rebuild under Pep Guardiola while still fighting Arsenal for the title, three names keep popping up in credible reports: Yan Diomande, Mika Godts, and Gabriel Martinelli.
Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig)
Diomande, born in November 2006, only moved to RB Leipzig last July, but the Ivorian teenager has already made the entire European market sit up and take notice. He picked up 13 goals and seven assists across 32 games this season, playing with a frightening directness and a natural scoring instinct that few kids his age have.
Leipzig hold a strong hand as he signed a five-year deal with no release clause, so any deal happens purely on their terms. Man City reportedly see him as their main target, but a fee around £100 million is a massive financial gamble for a 19-year-old with only one senior season under his belt. The risk is real, even if his potential is sky-high.
Mika Godts (Ajax)
Godts had a brilliant Eredivisie campaign, hitting the net 17 times and providing 14 assists in 40 games. At 20, the Belgian left-winger skips past defenders easily and can pick a pass in tight areas. His contract runs until 2029, so Ajax won’t let him go cheap. The worry is the Premier League’s physical nature, as plenty of big names from the Eredivisie have struggled to bring that form to England, and Godts is still physically catching up.

Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal)
Martinelli scored just once in the Premier League this season, and Arsenal are reportedly feeling the pressure to sell. His Champions League record proves he has talent, but his consistency at the highest level is still a bit of a question mark. Man City could get him for a fair price, though whether Guardiola actually needs another winger after Antoine Semenyo arrived in January is up for debate.
