Gianluigi Donnarumma – 6/10 – The Italian almost gifted Brentford an opener after eight minutes when he completely missed a cross from a set-piece. He looked shaky dealing with long throws all afternoon, though he did pull off a solid save to deny Igor Thiago while the game was still level. He did his job, but it wasn’t a convincing performance.
Matheus Nunes – 6/10 Nunes spared Donnarumma’s blushes with a goal-line clearance early on and spent most of the match tracking Kevin Schade’s runs. He was disciplined defensively and kept his position well, but we didn’t see much from him in the attacking third.

Marc Guéhi, Nathan Aké – 6/10 each. Both centre-halves were steady during a difficult first hour, winning their fouls and covering well whenever Brentford looked to break. It was a safety-first display, nothing flashy, just solid defending.
Nico O’Reilly – 6/10. The young left-back showed plenty of energy up and down the wing. While he didn’t do anything wrong, he struggled to really get involved in the final third or make a major impact on the game.
The engine room and attacking spark
Bernardo Silva & Tijjani Reijnders – 6/10 each. Both midfielders sent efforts over the bar in a first half where Manchester City had all the ball but no end product. Reijnders looked sharper as the game went on, but neither player really managed to dictate the tempo the way they usually do.
Rayan Cherki – 6/10. Brentford did a job on Cherki, swarming him every time he picked up the ball in the middle. He was crowded out and lost possession a few times as a result. There were glimpses of what he could do, but he never found the space to really hurt them.
Antoine Semenyo – 7/10. Semenyo was a constant outlet on the right, driving at the Brentford backline and eventually carving them open with the cross for Haaland’s goal. He kept Nathan Collins busy all day and was easily City’s most direct threat.
The match-winners
Jérémy Doku – 9/10. Doku joined an elite bracket today, becoming only the third player this season to clock 6+ chances created and 6+ successful dribbles in a single game. After knocking on the door all afternoon, he finally broke the deadlock on 60 minutes, cutting inside from a short corner to curl a beauty into the far corner. That’s now his goals in back-to-back games, easily the best player on the pitch.
Erling Haaland – 7/10. It looked like one of those days for Haaland early on; he missed a header and fired a few straight at Kelleher. But he’s always there when it counts, tapping home his 26th of the season from Semenyo’s low ball in the 75th minute to kill the game off.

Phil Foden (sub) – 6/10. Foden was lively during his short time on the pitch and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet, forced into two world-class saves by Caoimhín Kelleher late on.
Omar Marmoush (sub) – 7/10. Marmoush made sure of the points in added time, latching onto a ball from Haaland and beating the keeper from a tight angle.
