Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their strong run in IPL 2026 with a big 43-run win over Chennai Super Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB scored a huge 250 for 3 in 20 overs, the highest total of the season so far. CSK tried to chase the big target but were all out for 207 in 19.4 overs.
Tim David was the star of the match with a powerful, unbeaten 70 from just 25 balls. His late hitting helped RCB post a very big total, which proved too much for CSK.
Tim David powers RCB to massive total
RCB were asked to bat first, and their top order gave a strong start. Phil Salt scored 46 while Devdutt Padikkal made 50 runs. Virat Kohli also added a quick 28 runs to keep the run rate high.
The match changed when David came to bat with captain Rajat Patidar. Both players attacked the bowlers from the start. David smashed 8 sixes in his unbeaten 70. One over in the 19th went for 30 runs, which helped RCB reach 250. Patidar supported well with 49 not out from 19 balls. The pair added 99 runs very quickly.
CSK struggle in big chase
CSK needed 251 runs to win, and the pressure was always high. The absence of MS Dhoni made things harder for the team. Prashant Veer scored 43 runs and tried to keep CSK in the match. Jamie Overton also played some attacking shots but wickets kept falling.
RCB bowlers stayed in control during the chase. Young spinner Suyash Sharma troubled CSK batters with his spin and took important wickets, including Shivam Dube. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also picked up a key wicket at the right time.
Turning point of the match
RCB scored 97 runs in the last five overs, which completely changed the game. CSK bowlers like Overton and Anshul Kamboj could not stop the flow of runs at the end. The big target of 251 proved too much for CSK as RCB sealed a comfortable win.
Overall, it was a dominant performance from RCB with strong batting and disciplined bowling.
