Kolkata Knight Riders post 220 runs after strong batting effort

Kolkata Knight Riders scored 220 for 4 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Captain Ajinkya Rahane led from the front with 67 runs off 40 balls. He played a calm and steady innings and reached his fifty in 28 balls.

Young batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi impressed on debut with 51 runs off 29 balls. He attacked the bowlers in the middle overs and helped the team keep the run rate high. Finn Allen gave a quick start with 37 runs off 17 balls in the power play. Rinku Singh remained not out on 33 off 21 balls and finished the innings strongly.

Shardul Thakur was the best bowler for the Mumbai Indians. Playing his first match for the team, he took 3 wickets for 39 runs in 4 overs. He dismissed Finn Allen, Ajinkya Rahane and Cameron Green. Rickelton and Rohit Sharma power Mumbai Indians chase

Mumbai Indians got a flying start in the chase thanks to Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma. The opening pair added 148 runs in just 11.5 overs and almost finished the match early.

Rickelton scored 81 runs off 43 balls with 4 fours and 8 sixes. Rohit Sharma played a brilliant innings of 78 runs off 38 balls, hitting 6 fours and 6 sixes. During his knock, Rohit also broke Virat Kohli’s record for most runs scored against one IPL team.

After the openers were dismissed, Tilak Varma scored 20 not out off 14 balls, and Hardik Pandya scored 18 not out off 11 balls to take the team home comfortably.

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Kartik Tyagi and Sunil Narine took one wicket each. Anukul Roy took an excellent diving catch to dismiss Rohit Sharma.
