Kolkata Knight Riders have managed to pull together a composed and vibrant squad for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). KKR showed promising signs in bits and flashes last time around, but failed to capitalise on the talent and experience they have amassed. A fine blend of Indian and overseas players, the former IPL Champions will try to regain the confidence they had in 2024. In light of the upcoming IPL season, here’s how the KKR squad is poised to look this time around.
Batters
Kolkata Knight Riders have a steady and dedicated batting unit with skipper Ajinkya Rahane as its central pillar. The talent and skill set of Angkrish Raghuvanshi is poised to improve, and the explosive mindsets of Rinku Singh, Manish Pandey, Rovman Powell, Cameron Green, and Finn Allen are almost certainly going to benefit KKR in the long run. Additionally, they have Tim Seifert, Tejasvi Singh, and Rahul Tripathi as batting reserves to provide much-needed bench strength in the squad.

All-Rounders
The all-round department of the Kolkata Knight Riders is limited but effective. Ramandeep Singh is a pillar of strength in KKR’s batting and bowling departments. Anukul Roy will complement and support him. Rachin Ravindra is another effective option with the bat and bowl. At the same time, the likes of Sarthak Ranjan and Daksh Kamra are expected to bring the unpredictability factor in the all-round department.
Bowlers
Kolkata Knight Riders has an impressive frontline bowling unit, including Harshit Rana, Varun Chakaravarthy, Sunil Narine, Akash Deep, Vaibhav Arora, and Matheesha Pathirana. Furthermore, Kartik Tyagi, Prashant Solanki, and Umran Malik can stun any batting unit on any given day. KKR’s bowling unit provides the team with the necessary cohesion and balance to make them one of the favourites to win the title in the upcoming season of the tournament.
