USA batter Aaron Jones has been charged with five violations of the anti-corruption rules by Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC). The charges were confirmed by both governing bodies in a media release on Wednesday, January 28.

Most of these charges are linked to the 2023-24 edition of the Barbados Bim10 tournament, which was organised by CWI and falls under the CWI Anti-Corruption Code. The remaining two charges are connected to international matches and are covered by the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Code.

The charges and suspension of Aaron Jones

Under the CWI rules, Jones has been accused of trying to fix or influence parts of matches in the Bim10 tournament. He has also been charged with failing to report approaches related to corrupt activity and not cooperating fully with a reasonable investigation by anti-corruption officials.

The ICC has also charged Jones with failing to fully report approaches or offers related to corrupt activity to its Anti-Corruption Unit. He has also been accused of obstructing the investigation by hiding or altering information related to the case.

These charges are part of a larger investigation, and the ICC has said that more people could be charged later. Jones has been provisionally suspended from all forms of cricket with immediate effect. He has 14 days from January 28, 2026, to reply to the charges. The ICC added that it will not comment further until the disciplinary process is complete.
