Italy created history at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai with a dominant 10-wicket win over Nepal in the T20 World Cup 2026. Chasing a small target of 124, Italy reached the score in just 12.4 overs without losing a wicket to seal their first-ever victory in the tournament.

It was a complete performance from the Azzurri as they controlled the game with the ball first and then finished the job in style with the bat.

Italy Spin Attack Restricts Nepal

After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, Italy made full use of the surface. Nepal never found rhythm and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They were bowled out for 123 in 19.3 overs.

Aarif Sheikh was the top scorer with 27 runs, but no batter managed to play a big innings. Nepal slipped from 93 for 3 to 123 all out after a middle-order collapse.

Crishan Kalugamage was the standout bowler with figures of 3 for 18 and was named Player of the Match. Ben Manenti also impressed with 2 for 9 in four overs, keeping the scoring tight. Italy’s bowlers used spin smartly and did not allow Nepal to build partnerships.

Mosca Brothers Finish In Style

Chasing 124, Italy openers Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca made the target look easy. The brothers stitched together a match-winning, unbeaten partnership and denied Nepal any chance in the second innings.

Italy raced to 50 runs inside four overs and kept attacking throughout. Justin Mosca remained unbeaten on 48 while Anthony Mosca scored 45 not out. Their calm and confident batting ensured Italy reached the target with 44 balls to spare.

The win is a landmark moment for Italian cricket. It proves they are not just here to participate but to compete strongly in Group C. For Nepal, this loss hurts after showing promise in earlier matches. They will need to improve their middle-order batting if they want to stay alive in the tournament.

Italy, on the other hand, will take great confidence from this historic and commanding victory.
